9 days post-op
by heather

Well, I've slept in my own bed two nights now and I think it has made a huge difference in how I feel during the day. I'm glad to be home, but its hard to rest at home. Its especially hard because I've been feeling much better every day. I went for a walk this morning and I think that really tired me out so I'm going to take a nap before I attempt to shower and wash my hair. It takes a lot of energy to do things like that.

How am I feeling? Well, I still have the constant head pain that I had before the surgery. I don't have the post-op LPH anymore. I have surgical pain and stiffness from the middle of my thighs up to the bottom of my ribs. My hips still feel as if they are out of joint and it gets worse the more I'm up or the longer I lay in one position. I still can't roll over in bed so I wake up every time I need to switch sides. I have to actually sit up and turn to the other side. I hope this goes away soon!

Time to get that nap in. Thanks for checking in!

Heather,
Glad to beable to read about your progress. Take it easy and make those naps frequent. Linda will be there on Saturday to help out. How is the home sale going? Any lookers? Good luck with that, too. Our market here is terrible. When contracts are coming in they are very low. Take care of yourself.

Hi Heather,
I've had one heck of a time being able to get your blog site! I got it after the first entry and then kept getting an error statement after that. Tonight I had good luck, so was able to catch up on how you were doing. Hang in there! Gosh, it sure sounds uncomfortable, but, hopefully, it's going to get better each day! We've been keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. - My weekend was awesome and I'll write to you about that when I get some free time. Jon arrived in CA safely. He, Dug and Sheryl all wish you well in your recovery. - Has Danielle had her baby yet?! I'm sure she has by now. - We send you our love!!

Hi, Kiddo!I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better each day from the effects of the surgery.I know it takes time but wish it could be even quicker for you.I just put Caleb to bed- got home from a baseball game that ran al ittle late so it was shower, snack and bed because he was pretty tired. He asked me to say Hi and he misses you a lot!School will end next week with a barbeque on Thursday and early release on Friday. The school play was last night- Caleb was the grasshopper in Aesop's fables! The play was called Bebop with Aesop. He was great and the kids did a delightful job with the songs and skits.I hope the pictures come out. Well, I probably ought to get some sleep. Hope it keeps getting better every day and you are in our prayers every day-Hi to Nate and love from us two sleepy guys.

Heather,
I will keep praying for you. Take it easy, and don't try to do too much at once. Do they think this surgery will take care of the head pain? I hope so. I hope we can talk soon. Love you.

Heather, I'm so glad to hear that surgery went well and that you are home safely. When do you expect those lousy headaches to go away??? You will be so happy to be free from headaches forever! When does the doctor expect to be able to tell if this worked? I wish you a very speedy recovery!

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well Heather, hopefully the pains will subside soon. Get lots of rest and relaxation in the meantime- it was great seeing you and Nate again. Be sure keep me up to date about any possible travels (or relocations) to NY in the future. Take care!

Hi Heather and Nate!Hope things continue to go well. It has to be good to be home and to have Mom Straz there to mother you both- don't get too used to it! I hope the stiffness and soreness are continuing to lessen, Heather, and that you are beginning to see some relief from the surgery.Caleb had another ball game today. They have had to reschedule a number of games because of rain. The team wasn't doing that well today, but they had a good rally in the last inning, which restored their confidence and spirits- playoffs start tommorrow-Caleb will be pitching.Looking forward to seeing you . Hello and love to all- Dad
